transformation project

The 'Tool Transformation' Project was created with the idea of zooming into an inanimate object of our choice, and having the surface transform with each zoom.  My tool of choice was a vice grip, and my main goal with this transformation was to take an object that was seen as "menacing" (even the name of the tool, vice grip, made the tool seem intimidating) and have it transform into something delicate and whimsical.  Textures and shading were achieved through a series of hatching and pointillism.
